2025 Leadership Institute

I am so proud to report that Lions of Michigan Leadership Institute was attended by 5 District 10 Lions this year!  I was honored to participate as an instructor this year but also very proud to have such a great representation from our District.  I am hoping that their experience will inspire others to take advantage of this great opportunity next year!

(L to R) Judy Racette, Delta Menominee Heart of the North; Jane Lanaville, Delta Menominee Heart of the North; Colleen Maki, District Governor and Leadership Institute Instructor; Christian Tackman, Gladstone Lions; Morgan Frappier, Bay de Noc Lions and Sara Salo, Trenary Lions.

The following are their comments:

  • I appreciated the opportunity to attend.  So many like-minded people gathered to learn and share experiences and ideas!  Judy
  • It was great to reconnect with people I haven’t seen in a while and meet new people – even from our own District.  The food was plentiful and very good, accommodations more than adequate.  Training was a great refresher for me and I did leave with some ideas from my other classmates. Jane
  • Being a fairly new Lions member it was an honor to attend.  Not only did I learn a lot about Lions but I met some pretty amazing people who opened their arms to me.  The instructors not only teach lessons but at the end of the day, came to socialize and play cards with us – something I will cherish.  I now have a much better understanding of how I can be a part of my club’s continuing success! Morgan
  • The ELLI course was such fertile soil for not only club growth but personal growth.  When they said “This is a safe place – no judgement” they meant it!  You didn’t have to be afraid to raise your hand or admit you didn’t know something.  Everyone equally needed guidance or provided guidance.  Everyone there had the same passionate hearts to serve.  It was truly a life changing experience that I will forever be grateful for. Sara
  • I had a great time at Leadership Institute meeting with other Lions from all over the state.  We were able to share ideas and experiences on how we can best serve our communities and ways in which we can try to find and create new Lions that will help carry the torch. Christian

Members of the Norway High School LEO Club recently spread holiday cheer by creating handmade cards for U.P. Kids Who Serve, a program that supports children and families across the Upper Peninsula.

The students spent time designing and writing heartfelt messages to brighten the holidays for youth who give back to their communities through service. Each card was made with care and creativity, reflecting the spirit of kindness and giving that defines the LEO Club.

This project is one of many service activities the group takes part in throughout the year, as LEO Club members continue to demonstrate leadership, compassion, and community pride.

The club extends warm holiday wishes to all and hopes their cards bring smiles to those who receive them.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Night

Childhood Cancer Awareness Night

For our two upcoming night games, BR-H Youth Football is proud to support a cause very close to our hearts—childhood cancer awareness.

With guidance from local families who have been personally affected, we have partnered with UP Lions Serve, an organization committed to helping children and families facing this battle.

💛 The awareness color for childhood cancer is gold, and to show our support, each player will be wearing gold socks during these games. Don’t worry, we have purchased a pair for each player!

We’re also taking action off the field:

  • 100% of proceeds from our coin toss and bake sale (thank you, Lindsey Rice!) will be donated.
  • We’ll also be selling our youth football stickers, with 100% of proceeds going to the cause.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting this important effort and showing our community’s strength and compassion. Let’s turn the field gold and make a difference together.
